In all Unix / Linux servers, the various services are generally called DAEMONS — The Berkeley variant of Unix, which fell behind some years ago as Linux rocketed ahead, had as its logo a small DEMON with a pitchfork and barbed tail and all.
Consider ROSWELL as a prompting — a nudge given…to move humanity from vacuum tubes, which had reached its 80/20 nexxus for then-present, to the new semi-conductor scientific paradigm. It seems, however, that POWER COLLECTION was the use of semi-conductors on the flying craft, and NOT power distribution. We have largely missed that application, commonly, generally, and have pursued (or had pursued and put upon us) the flipside, which is the (mis-) use of semiconductors for power distribution, output — think power amplifiers, CPUs, etc. It has not been until recently that POWER COLLECTION (in the form of solar panels) that semiconductors have come into what was possibly the original intention of the original nudge toward semiconductors and away from vacuum tubes. Recall that the introduction by Bell Labs of the T-R-A-N-S-I-S-T-O-R was only 6 months after the supposed Roswell Crash and recovery (at Wright Patterson Field, adjunct to Antioch College which sports its own bizarre mil-indus-academ morass!)
