RE live musical performances —- one of the best shows ever was called NIGHT MUSIC w David Sanborn. It was variety of musicians/styles, playing separately w house band and then all together. It was freaking amazing; check the SRV jam in particular.
Also, look into Mapleshade recordings. There is an entire WORLD of high-end audio that “protools” et al never reveal or touch. Chesky Records DAC also wonderful.
There is a DDAC open-source project that is killer, also. Often the “best” is the simplest.
