Hot-Potato’d from buyer to buyer, Chinese equity firm HONGSHAN last paid $1.1 billion.
I live in Milton Keynes and have had drum lessons from him. Amazing strict time drummer. I remember in the late 70’s he had a music shop in Queensway in Bletchley. I also lived across the road from Terry Marshall in an area called Oldbrook in Milton Keynes. Jim used to drink in Ye Olde Swan in Woughton On The Green and had his own brand (Jim Marshal) whiskey behind the bar. I drank in there and had a bit of a thing for one of his daughters from one of his many marriages. A Japanese company kept trying to buy the Marshall name only from him and he could keep the company. but it was always NO. He did tell me that on one occasion the offer was £50,000,000 and he laughed the offer off. He was a great guy to have a drink with and he always had great stories to share. He knew full well that after he passed the company would go the exact way that it has. All his kids had shares in the company and sold them. Rest in peace Mr Marshall.
Marshall was started in Hanwell, West London. Not Stevenage.
Marshall = Real tube Amplification. Axe FX modelers types are Artificial and designed for the lazy or for cost cutting alternatives (less work for road crew). Nothing like the air a Marshall amp pushes through a 4×12 speaker cabinet when cranked. Once experienced you never forget the feeling and sound that can only be achieved by the real thing. Shucks I even liked the way Marshall’s smelled when they were played for a few hours, The glue and tolex heated up giving off that sweet smell that is only second to the smell of a brand new Gibson guitar. I am inspired just thinking about that shit!
It wasn’t the tech that has killed he Music it is the Globalists that control all of our industries and the Music that has been neutered. At least the factory is still functioning and making the amps I love so dearly anyway.
