Magic Square of the Sun

The Magic Square of the Sun is a type of mathematical puzzle or grid known as a magic square. It is a square grid containing numbers arranged in such a way that the sum of the numbers in each row, column, and diagonal is the same. The Magic Square of the Sun specifically refers to a magic square where the numbers are arranged in a manner associated with the Sun.

The traditional Magic Square of the Sun is a 3×3 grid, meaning it contains three rows and three columns. In this square, the numbers 1 through 9 are arranged in such a way that each row, column, and diagonal adds up to the number 15, which is often associated with the Sun in numerology and ancient symbolism.

The arrangement of the numbers in the Magic Square of the Sun follows a specific pattern:

“`
4 9 2
3 5 7
8 1 6
“`

In this arrangement:
– Each row, column, and diagonal adds up to 15.
– The numbers are arranged symmetrically around the central number, 5.
– The numbers in the corners (2, 4, 6, and 8) are positioned opposite each other, as are the numbers on the edges (1, 3, 7, and 9).
– The numbers 1 and 9, as well as 3 and 7, are positioned opposite each other and add up to 10, a number often associated with completion or perfection.

The Magic Square of the Sun has been studied and celebrated for its mathematical properties and symbolic significance. It has appeared in various cultures and traditions throughout history, often associated with solar symbolism, numerology, and mystical beliefs. It continues to be studied and explored by mathematicians, occultists, and enthusiasts interested in its mathematical and symbolic meanings.

  1. “In 1975 in one of the worst slums in Palermo, Sicily I encountered a temple which had originally been dedicated to Venus Aphrodite. It had been dedicated at some point in ancient times to Jesus Christ also. The large inscriptions included both dedications. The older one to Venus and the newer one to Jesus Christ. There were statues in recesses all around the outside of the building. Each pedestal bore the name of a different God or Goddess. The original statues had been removed and replaced by statues of various Christian Saints. However, the names remained the same. The images were changed but the names remained the same.”
